Chicosci SM Sta. Rosa Mall Tour

Last January 27, 2008, Chicosci (one of my favorite rock bands) went on Sm Sta. Rosa for their mall tour. Me, together with my brother, sister and with some of our friends went there to watch their show. As expected, a lot of 'emo' kids also came to see them perform live. Unluckily, not all of them got the chance to enter inside the event center because the show isn't free at all. You have to buy their album first for you and three of your companions to enter inside. Or, you have to bring a cd of Chicosci album to get through. We dont have any chicosci cd at tha time so we are forced to buy their cd instead. Anyway, I think its all worth it, coz we managed to get inside and we even got close on the stage. There are only a few kids inside compare to the number of fans who are outside the event center.

When the show started, all of us freaked out ! Me and my sister were screaming and singing very loud all the time. Its just very frustrating and disappointing to see that only a few of us were singing and jumping in the crowd. All the other kids were just busy taking pictures and videos of the band. Even so, we still loved and enjoyed the whole show. I even threw my bracelet on the stage out of excitement. Miggy Chavez (band's vocalists) saw and picked it up and said it was 'cute' and then wore it ! I was really happy and I screamed more louder ! My sister was also very happy at that time coz she caught the mineral water that Miggy threw on the audience.
After their performance, they had their autograph signing for their fans. I also got the chance to have their autograph signed on their album cd and even took pictures together with all of the band members ! It was really great and very exciting experience !

Chicosci are scheduled to be back at SM City Sta. Rosa @ Feb. 29, 2008 at 8:00 pm. We're all going to be there to see them again, yehey !!!

Happy Birthday Chito Miranda !!!

Today is the birthday of Chito Miranda, frontman/vocalists of the so called 'Pambansang Banda ng Pilipinas' and here are some of the interesting info about him...

Originally, Parokya ni Edgar was called Comic Relief. However, they decided to change it to the former in homage to an ancient classroom joke. It revolves around the story of Noli Me Tangere, one of Chito’s school subjects.

Parokya ni Edgar's Matira Matibay, Greatest Hits Concert

I didn't actually watched this concert live, I only watched it on tv on Myx Presents program last Dec. 25, 2007. The concert was really impressive. The stage set up is really different among any other band's concert. The stage is full of props like a sari-sari store with lots of tambays whose been drinking and smoking. It was all just like a normal "kanto" scene set up in stage together with all the band members performing. A typical scene that the band always have whenever they have their solo concert shows. I guess it was all the band's idea to have something like that to closely represents what their music is really all about. Or maybe, they just enjoy playing on stage with all their friends up there on their side. I really can't tell, but its really cool and I find it very unique. It's a signatory concept that Parokya ni Edgar started.
Anyway, with all the people up there in the stage, they're really not that distracting at all. It was all about the band's perfomances that all the audiences wanted to see. Thousands of fans went to this concert to see and watch Parokya performs all their Greatest Hits songs from their very first successful album up to their latest. I almost lost count of all the hits songs that they played. They also have Gloc 9 as their guest performer for their Bagsakan song. Even though Francis M. ( The Master Rapper ) isn't there, they still managed to do well and all the crowd liked it.
One thing I'd noticed about Parokya is that they are really approacable to all their fans, specially their vocalists, Chito Miranda. He always go closer to their fans and even make himself available to everyone. Good thing is, he doesn't saty on one side of the stage. He always go from one side to another. All the fans took the chance to get picture and took video of Chito while singing. I also had that kind of experience on Chito on our company's Christmas party since I'm on the very front side of the stage. It's really fun to have a close encounter like that to someone whose in a band so I know what those people felt by the time they got close to Chito.
Even though I'm not actuallly an avid fan of Parokya, I really enjoyed the concert. No wonder, they're considered to be one of the best pinoy band here in the Philippines. All their greatest hits and top single that ruled over the chart even before all the other OPM band rise to mainstream, Parokya was already ruling over and making great over the local music scene. They reamained strong and the band still consists of all their original members unlike any other famous bands here.
Another thing I like about them is that they have this wholesome image. They're really funny and are quite jokers. It's not hard to tell since all their music videos are really funny but good. I hope that they would continue to be the same coz it really suites them. It's something that they're really good at. Making cool songs, staying funny but very appealing and entertaining to others and remaining to be one of the country's best and leading band.

NEC Christmas Party !!!

Last night (Dec.15,2007), our Christmas party at NEC / Tokin Phils. Inc. was held. It was great ! I was lucky enough to be included in the party even though I was only a newly hired employee. I was only hired last Dec. 10 so our batch was really fortunate to join the company's Christmas party. It was really fun, there's a lot of food and drinks! Although I don't give much attention to their program since I'm not yet familiar with the people at NEC. What matters to me is the fact that their special guest happens to be one of the most popular band here in the Philippines! It was Parokya ni Edgar! I was very lucky to be infront of the stage watching them perform. And even though it started to rain really hard, all the fans don't leave their positions and still continue to sing and took pictures of Chito Miranda . I also don't leave my position and continue to take video of the band performance. I also have the chance to shake hands with Vinci and of course the most popular of them all, Chito! All the employees, specially the girls are really trying hard to grab and kiss Chito! It was really crazy! What only sucks is that there is a total power failure due to the heavy rain. All the equipment and sound speakers get damaged and their performance had to stop. But still, Chito Miranda tries to entertain the audience by allowing all the employees to take pictures with him. There are a lot of girls tooking pictures of Chito so I decided to look for the other band members and took a pictures of them. I was lucky enough to find Sir Darius, their gitarist at the side of the stage so I asked him to take some pictures with him. I also got the opportunity to see Sir Dindin, their drummer, whose all alone at the other side of the stage and I was able to take pictures with him too! I also want to take pictures with Sir Vinci and Sir Bui but I haven't see them. Anyway, with all the pictures taken, I was convince that night and when people are starting to leave, I also decided to go home. I was really happy and I really enjoy at party.
I'm not really a big or avid fan of Parokya ni Edgar but I used to listen to their music and I admired their talents. But I always thought that the band is so 'air-headed' or 'mayabang', specially their vocalist, Chito. But Last night, it proved me wrong. Chito Miranda is a really nice guy. His funny although he's really not that cute or good looking, but His really approachable to all of their fans. Parokya ni Edgar really Rocks !!!
